Slow Food East End Chef Workshop — North Fork Foodie Tour Partnership
Slow Food East End hosted a cooking demonstration and tasting experience at Golden Acres Organic Farm for the North Fork Foodie Tour, the annual tasting and touring afternoon welcoming hundreds of guests to tour about 20 farms and food destinations on the North Fork. To celebrate fall’s harvest we partnered with Greenport-raised Chef Gail Watson, a nutritionist, cookbook author, recipe developer, and food photographer. Gail guided us through creating four fabulous recipes that our guests were able to sample. Gail selected seasonal recipes, sharing tips and showing easy ways to preserve seasonal bounty with recipes to enjoy anytime or upscale easily for celebratory events.
Slow Food encourages all to gather together, cook, and enjoy the delicious gift of locally grown produce. Thank you Chef Watson for joining us to help bring our mission to life. Find Gail’s recipes for Tomato Confit, Gingery Sweet Potato Butter, Turmeric Tahini Dressing with Roasted Vegetables, Basil Oil and Quick Pickles and more, plus plenty of nutritious tips here.
