Winter Farmers’ Markets Open in Riverhead and Bridgehampton

Riverhead’s  a new, weekly indoor market will on Saturday, February 1, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.. at the former Swezey’s, 117 East Main Street, across the street from Suffolk Theater.

Holly Browder of Browder’s Birds in Southold, who is helping organize the market, reports that 35 East End purveyors have already signed up to offer up local goods. A Taste of the North Fork, Long Island Livestock Co., Goodale Farms, Carissa Breads, Merkin Fisheries and the Southampton Soap Company are among the vendors. Only locally produced products and food are permitted.

The market will run through May 17, and vendors are still being recruited.  Click here for a registration form.

Topping Rose House Restaurant and Inn in Bridgehampton is also hosting a winter farmers market on a monthly basis in its Barn event space. The next market will be held on February 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it will continue every third Saturday from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. for the duration of the season.
